

A celebration of life ceremony will be Saturday, June 27 at his family residence in Pembroke Pines, FL. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00. Arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunters
Richard was born in Edison OH on October 24, 1925. He graduated from Edison High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marines upon graduation.
Richard was married to Marie Carnavale on May 19, 1957; they were married 17 years until her death.
Richard served in the U.S. Marines in World War II, seeing action in the Pacific theater, wounded in combat in Okinawa, receiving a purple heart. He was honorably discharged and then enlisted in the U.S. Army, with service in Korea and Vietnam. He then retired from the military after 20 years, and was employed by the U.S. government in military logistics, which he subsequently retired from in 1974 due to medical reasons. He remained retired until his passing, enjoying the many things he loved, which included golf, fishing, hunting, and the horse track.
Richard is survived by his son’s Marc and Rick, his grandchildren Alyssa, Blake, and Taylor, along with his brothers Neil, Jimmy, and Leroy, and nieces and nephews.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Marie, daughter Meghan, his parents Howard and Edna, his brother Stanley, and sisters Betty and Phyllis.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choosing. The family of Richard wishes to thank those that knew him, for their thoughts and prayers.
