Robert F. Brunjes Jr., 89, of Davie, FL., passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born to Robert and Mary Brunjes on Nov 26, 1931 in New York, NY. Bob served in the United States Air Force before attending and graduating from Pace University in New York.He married his wife Rosemary in 1956, who predeceased him in 2007. They had four children, Robert Brunjes III (Amy); Edward Brunjes (Colleen); Gail Rivera (Nick); and Oscar Brunjes (Heather).
In addition to his four children, he is survived by his wife Rita Brunjes, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.After 20 years at the New York Daily News, Bob moved to Florida and served as president of Southeast Periodicals and Book Sales until his retirement. He spent his life surrounding himself with his closest friends and family, fishing, golfing, and traveling the world. He had a passion for volunteering and was an active volunteer in several charities including the St. Maurice Catholic Church Hunger Program. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Wednesday at Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Davie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Thursday at St. David’s Catholic Church in Davie.
