Rosie Punama Rambarran, God’s firecracker, graced this earth with her presence on November 18th, 1937 in Herstelling, Guyana. She lived every moment of her life her way, but never out of God’s covenant. She passed away peacefully with what she considered her greatest blessings, her children at her bedside on March 24th, 2021 at 8:20 pm.
Throughout her 83 years she lived many titles and thrived in them to their fullest: - A faithful and loving wife, she married Kishore Rambarran on March 2nd, 1958; the mother of unconditional love and a desired example to follow, a grandmother whose grandkids called on her every day because they knew she asked for God’s blanket of protection on them and she was always in their corner as their attorney. She was a friend that many have leaned upon at all times – good and bad, mentor to the young for comfort, financial help, spiritual support; the always available cornerstone of solace and strength for the older; the village seamstress who taught her trade to many young ladies and freely gave her service to hundreds. And when she was unable to fill any request, she called upon those in her network to do so, making sure the request was fulfilled. “No” was not in her vocabulary only “I’ll find a way”.
Rosie is survived by her 3 children, Mavis Fleschman, Celia Sanichar (Jack), and David Rambarran (Diana); her 3 grandchildren Terrence, Aryssa, and Alexa. She is preceded in death by her husband Kishore Rambarran, Sons-in-law Herman Sanichar, and Joel Fleschman.
She gifted us with a legacy of footprints – love, family, generosity, compassion, tenacity, grace, empathy, and humility.
Rosie will be missed - Her always engaging, charismatic presence will be missed.
