Ruth was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Gaylord and Mayme Garner on February 19, 1929. She went to school at Penn Hills High. She married her teenage sweetheart, Robert Eggleston on January 12, 1951, in Pittsburgh. Bob and Ruth moved to Miami, Fl in 1955 where they raised their three children. Ruth was an avid bowler and served as a secretary for most of the 60 plus years she was a member of her women’s league.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, William Garner.
Ruth is survived by her son, Charles G Eggleston of Hollywood FL; daughters Patricia J Shealy (Eugene) of Keystone Heights, Fl and Janet R Hotard (Steve) of Smyrna, GA. Four grandchildren: Karen, Susan, Shannon and Michelle; and one great-grandson: Milo; sisters: Dorothy Croft of Pittsburgh, PA and Linda DeVilling of Rochester, MI.
Ruth enjoyed having visitors and hosting parties for any occasion at her home. She will be missed by neighbors, friends and family.
