

Shanna Nicole Blissett was born January 14, 1979 in Kingston, Jamaica to Claudette Wellington (Donna) and Norman Blissett (Troy –preceded her in death). The family moved to New York after her birth to pursue new opportunities in the U.S. Her mother worked hard providing security and safety as she grew up in the city. In 1994 the family moved from Brooklyn to the Bronx to make a home with Lucian Pinckney, whom her mom met in 1990.
As a youth she danced (ballet and tap) for several years and spent many enjoyable summers in Florida with her Aunt Pansy and family. Shanna graduated from Frederick Douglas Academy in Harlem. After high school she attended Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. She returned home to NY and worked as a teacher’s assistant, working with people suffering from traumatic brain injury and many other jobs over time. She moved and worked in Florida to be closer to family last year.

Shanna is survived by her mother Donna and Stepfather Lucian Pinckney. Grandmother: Judy and Ms. Sylvie. Grandfather: Eric. Aunts: Rochelle, Kim, Paula, Brigitte, Marlene, Joan and Theresa. Uncles: Wayne and Eric, Jr. Great Aunts: Audrey, Pat, Pansy. Cousins: Bradley, Chris, Allyson, Nicole, Brian, Natalie, Shanna, Anthony, Karim, Kimala, and Jermaine. God- Daughter: Trinity. God-Sister: Dani. Special “Aunts”: Patsy, Laurel, Jewel and Jennifer and many other cousins and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
