Shirley D. Giddarie

Shirley was born on February 5, 1940, in Mandeville, Jamaica, to Edwin and Charlotte Dunbar. She received her early education in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where she developed the strong values and work ethic that guided her throughout her life.

On September 24, 1966, Shirley married Frederick Giddarie in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Their union was one of love, dedication, and family, which remained central to Shirley’s life.

Shirley enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a Bank Manager at Victoria Mutual Building Society, where she served for over 25 years. She was highly respected for her professionalism, leadership, and commitment to excellence.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: David(Josen), Karen(Reginald), Susan(Terrel) and Richard(Gillian). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Andre, Jasmine, Andruw, Quentin, Nicholas, Amanda, Samantha, and Joshua. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida 33024. Arrangements are entrusted to Fred Hunter’s Funeral Homes, Cemeteries, and Crematory.
