Somwatee Singh

Somwatee Singh aka Shamwattie, 82, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed from this life on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Somwatee was born in Guyana to Kandhai and Mangri on January 12, 1942. Somwatee married Thakur Singh on April 1958 in Guyana. Somwatee migrated to the United States in 1996 and resided in Deerfield Beach, Florida.  

She was the youngest of 10 siblings. Somwatee is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years Thakur Singh, (parents) Kandhai and Mangri, (9 siblings) Champa, Ramlall, Samlall, Sookdeo, Beetan, Ball, Bettya and Bissoon, (in laws) Charran and Basantie Singh, (sons) Jagesh and Sato, (grandchildren) Bayo, Divya and Sharon, (bother in law) Diaram, (sister-in-law) Devika.

She is survived by her children, Camile, Sattie, Nanda and Sanjay, (sons- in- law) Vickram, Vishnu and Baboo, (daughters- in- law) Shelly and Camille, (sisters-in-law) Daiyo, Sukoo, Radika, (brother-in-law) Kesho, (grandchildren) Shivani, Terry, Dana, Sabrina, Rovonie, Baba. Vanita, Kavita, Leona, Vijay, Rema and Josh (grandsons- in- law) Gajin, Pete, Sunil, Shantaram and Vijay, (granddaughters- in- law) Roshni, Neeta and Sherita, (great grandchildren) Ashley, Chris, Nikita, Johnny, Rhea, Andrew, Tyler, Sonali and 16 others, (great- great grandson) Damian, (nieces and nephews) Sham, Sandra, Pamela, Rohan, Visho, Gaitree, Oma, Chitro, Ramnarine, Bullet, Ramesh, Suresh, Mukesh, Julie, Prastan, Moon, Priya, Krenky, Punka, Anita,  Satesh, Janet, Anand and others, (friend) Malo, Shamo and others.

Services will be held at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, FL 33024.         

Visitation will be from 5pm to 10pm on Saturday October 19, 2024.

Funeral Service will be held from 9am to 12pm on Sunday October 20, 2024.
