

Elder Susan Williams Cooper
"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you..." Jeremiah 1:5a
Elder Susan Williams Cooper was born on October 1, 1946 to the late Mr. I.V. and Mrs. Lillie Mae Williams, in Shorterville, Alabama. The family moved to Dania Florida in 1954 when Susan was nine years old. She was the third eldest of eight siblings. Two of her brothers, Richard and Carl, predeceased her.
Susan matriculated through the Broward County School system and graduated from Attucks High School in 1964. After high school, she joined the Job Corp and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. In 1974, she became one of the first Black students to graduate from the Registered Nurses' program at Broward Community College. During her career as a Registered Nurse, she served on the staff at Hollywood Memorial Hospital for 26 years, was a traveling nurse and was on staff with Vitas Hospice, Inc.
"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." (I Cor. 13:7, 8b)
Elder Cooper loved to serve and to share her vast knowledge of the word of God with all who came in contact with her. She served faithfully in her church, The Life Changing Word Church under Pastor Jason Williams who was also her nephew. She was an ordained Elder, a Bible Teacher and one of the administrators of the church.
In 2009, she, along with her long time prayer partner, Mother Willie Frances Smith, formed the Willing Vessels Intercessory Prayer Ministry This group met bi-monthly to pray for their pastors, ministries, families and whoever else the Lord placed on their hearts.
"When I recall to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother..., and in your mother ..., and am now persuaded is in you also"(2 Tim.1:5)
Susan had a loving and supportive family. She was blessed with three beautiful children, Stephanie, Albert and Alvin. She has six wonderful grandchildren; Shan Harris(Terrance), Sharrell Arneaud(Cordell), Sydnei, Ashton, Alex and Ariel, four amazing great grandchildren; Terrance, Jr., Sanigh Desirae, Semaris Dione & Syrenity Dream. , five surviving siblings; Dorothy Lois , Barbara, Sandra, Billy and Kalvin, all of Florida, four aunts; Susie ,Minerva, Essie and Pearl , all of Alabama, three nieces, eight nephews, many cousins, other relatives and friends. She will always be remembered with love by her special prayer partners and friends; Willie Frances Smith and Ethel Wiggins.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race , I have kept the faith Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day-...(2 Tim. 4:7,8a)
Our beloved Susan passed from time into eternity with the Father on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 2:00 in the afternoon
