Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunty, and Friend, Teisa Palu Hala’ufia Netane, returned home to our Father in Heaven. Teisa is reunited with her loving husband, Hala Lea’aevai Netane, on Monday, November 13, 2023. She was born on December 28, 1955, and is the daughter of Uinise Ofa and Siaosi Kupu Hala’ufia. Teisa attended Tonga High School and St.Joseph Catholic School before moving to the United States in 1974.
Teisa was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved serving and helping others. Teisa was called as a service missionary together with her husband, Hala, to serve in the church welfare program. Their service mission was to operate the local cannery and help the community become self-sufficient with their food storage.
Teisa worked as a bank teller for over 30 years and has enjoyed the many friendships she gained from working there.
Teisa had a passion for sharing her faith and love of the Savior, through service to others. She made beautiful floral arrangements and flower leis for those she loved. You would often find her dropping off gifts and visiting anyone in need of a friend or who was not feeling well. Although she had her own battles with cancer, this did not stop her from serving others with a smile on her face. Spending time with children and being able to teach or learn principles of faith was a highlight of her life.
Teisa was a woman of strength and integrity. She had such a great love for everyone she came in contact with. Her smile along with laughing and joking was guaranteed to brighten up any room. Everyone was welcomed with open arms and she made you feel as if you were family. Teisa was a proud mother, wife and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Teisa Palu Hala'ufia Netane is survived by her 4 children: Lokelani, Haloti, Hala Jr, and Kirkome (Delva) along with 6 grandchildren: Teisa, MeLa (Berry), Delva (Pipi), Hala (Tiki), Kirkome (Tiny), and Arlen (Ziggy) as well as her siblings: Uanita Tupouahome’e Longstaff, Luseane Halaevalu Mata’aho Taufu’i, Taufa'ahau Hala'ufia, Latufuipeka Hafoka, Kelela Hala’ufia, Tuhi Karamea Talakai, and Sisitoutai Hala’ufia.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hala Lea’aevai Netane, her parents Siaosi Kupu Hala’ufia, Uinise Ofa Lavulo Hala’ufia; brother Siaosi Makamalohi Hala’ufia; and sister Meleane Lavulo Hala’ufia.
