It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved guitar man, William (Bill) George Ferguson.
Bill, or Ferg as he was also affectionately known, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, August 25, 2025. His loving and devoted wife Tracey was by his side, as was his daughter Chelsea.
Bill is survived by his beautiful wife Tracey Peirce Ferguson; his mother Suzanne Ferguson; his brother Rick Ferguson (Julie); his sisters Donna Aybar (Jay) and Laura Cunningham (Todd); his sons William Ferguson, Brent Ferguson (Tabitha), Shawn Ferguson (Cassandra), and Ryan Peirce (Jennifer); his daughter Chelsea Peirce Rinehart (Travis); his grandchildren Paisley, Lexxi, Cameron, Isaiah, and Olivia Ferguson; and Elena Peirce. Bill was preceded in death by his father Richard Ferguson; and his son Logan Peirce (Natalie). Bill also leaves behind his crazy, “I’ll eat anything and everything” buddy Theo 🐾
Ferg was born May 14, 1957 in Port Jefferson, NY, however, his family relocated to Florida when he was an infant so Ferg always considered himself a lifelong Floridian. He was a 1975 graduate of Cooper City High School. He also attended Broward Community College and graduated from there in 1978. Shortly after, Bill enlisted in the USAF and was stationed in Minot, ND. Upon his return to Florida he began a career working in HVAC and spent his last 22 years of employment with CORS-AIR until his retirement in July of 2024. Bill’s gift of gab, his ease and gentle demeanor propelled him to find much success in his work. He had a loyal clientele and was loved and respected by all.
Bill is a Past Exalted Ruler of the Hollywood West Elks Lodge # 2365. He and his father Richard were the only father and son who shared this esteemed title within their Chapter.
Bill was a true blue diehard Miami Dolphins, Florida Panthers and Miami Heat fan, despite marrying into a very passionate “all things” Boston fan family. In sports they were definitely a house divided with the exception of the Red Sox - the only middle ground. Whether at home watching on tv or in person at a game Bill cheered long and loud for his teams and was ecstatic at their championship wins throughout his life (but Boston still had way more 😉)
Other enjoyments in Bills life were fishing, golfing, raising butterflies, and a good cigar with a glass of bourbon.
Music, music, music … guitars, guitars, guitars … this was Ferg’s absolute joy!! In his younger years he was so happy playing in the band Nasty Habits. He continued his love of music playing at home, singing karaoke, and serenading his family, most especially his wife Tracey.
We will miss his smile, his kind heart, his generosity. He made everyone he met feel welcome and loved. His smile would light up the room.
“It’s my life, it’s better left to chance
I could’ve missed the pain
But I’d had to miss the dance”
