

Willie Jean (Harper) Pope Gibertoni, 83, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, formerly of Hialeah and Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully on July 31, 2018 at the Miami Jewish Home and Hospital for the Aged following failing health.
Born in Alma, Georgia on April 19, 1935, a daughter of Idos Olen and Vernell Aline (Aldridge) Harper. She moved to Hialeah in 1968 and later to Melbourne, Florida where she worked as a secretary for Harris Corporation before her retirement. Jean moved to Pembroke Pines, Florida later in life to be closer to her family. She loved her family and her toy poodle, Lindy. In earlier years, she loved to dance. She's now jitterbugging and dancing before the Lord in Heaven. She was a former member of North Hialeah Baptist Church before moving to Melbourne and expressed in the past year that her membership letter be moved back there.
Survived by her devoted daughter, Cindy Pope Truman and her husband, Randy Truman, siblings, William (Marge) Harper, Patricia (Philip) Kinsey, Iris Firment, Arona (Jimmy) Lanier and Brenda Walsh, five grandchildren Nicole Pita, Randy Truman Jr, Angela Pope, Kasey Truman, John Michael Pope and 5 great grandchildren Jada, Damian, Stephen, Zoila and Zao and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindo J. Gibertoni in 2001, her former husband, Robert Verlyn Pope in 2005, daughter, Nelda Susan Pope Armstrong in 2002, Penny Lynn Pope in 2011 and brother, Idos Olen Harper, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 11:00 am at the North Hialeah Baptist Church, 5800 Palm Avenue, Hialeah, FL.
