

Wolfgang Heinz "Wolfie" Grimmer, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Northborough, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2015 following failing health. He was 85 years of age.
Born in Dresden, Germany on August 4, 1930, son of Karl and Helena (Jakob) Grimmer. In 1956, Mr. Gimmer immigrated to the United States, settling in Waltham, Massachusetts and later made his home in Northborough, Massachusetts where he remained until 1989. Both he and his wife Roberta moved to North Conway, New Hampshire, spending their time between North Conway and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Before his retirement in 1988, Mr. Grimmer worked for many years as a Manufacturing Cost Analyst with Polaroid Corporation, located in building one, Waltham, Massachusetts. He attended Harvard University, a member of the Polaroid Retiree Association and was named "Cement Head of The Year" in 1996, something he was very proud of. He moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida permanently following his retirement. Wolfie and Roberta traveled extensively to Germany, Virgin Islands and throughout the United States. When it came to politics, he enjoyed talking and debating that subject whenever he could.
Survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Roberta Jane (Grant) Grimmer, whom he dated 7 years before they married. Three daughters from a previous marriage, Mabi (Joseph) DeAngelis of Shrewsbury, MA; Moni (Stefan) Gais of Germany and Darlene (David) Ojerholm of Worcester, MA. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday, January 6th from 3:00 ~ 4:00 P.M. at Fred Hunters Hollywood Memorial Home, 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood. A Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
