Yolanda Warmoth, 94, passed away July 13th, 2015, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was born in Philadelphia, PA., to Italian American Parents who later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, while she was still a young girl. During WWII she met and married Dr. Lawrence Warmoth who served in the US Army Air Force in England. Yolanda, along with her 3 sisters, (Blanche, Theresa, and Emma), worked at an aircraft parts manufacturer (sometimes up to 7 days a week) that supplied vital equipment and supplies for the USAF, including the very same base that her husband was stationed at in Warton, England. Yolanda was later hired by the US Government as an inspector overseeing the parts manufacturing process. After the war her husband graduated from Chiropractic College and they both moved to Hialeah, Florida, in 1952 with their two children Larry and Denita. Yolanda worked in her husband's office as a receptionist and therapist and also served as president of the Dade County Chiropractic Association's Women's Auxiliary. In the early 1970's Yolanda earned a BS Degree from Florida Atlantic University. During the next 30 years she taught Adult Education in the Miami-Dade County School System's Lindsey Hopkins Educational Center and later at the Miami Lakes Educational Center implementing her experience from working in her husband's Chiropractic Office to help establish and teach a medical training program for Medical Secretary Students. Yolanda was a member of the staff that researched and wrote a book, ("Julia's Daughters"), about South Florida's pioneering women. Yolanda dedicated her life and love to her family and continued that love by help in raising her grandchildren who all called her their "Nonna". In her retirement years she thoroughly enjoyed socializing with her former co-workers and friends, reading her books, and having "spirited" discussions on the topics of the day. Yolanda is survived by her son Larry, daughter Denita Sutton, granddaughter Shanda Layne (Michael), grandson Justin Sutton (Meredith), great granddaughters Taylor Layne, and Mia Nicole Layne, great grandsons Vincent Patrick Layne and Charles Justin Sutton.
