Martin James Cooley

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Martin was born on January 12, 1939 in St. Alban’s, New York to John and Loretta Maroney Cooley and they preceded him in death. He had been married for 26 years to Laura Jo Fender Cartmill-Cooley and she survives.

Martin was a graduate of Waterloo High School in Waterloo, Wisconsin and he also attended Ripon College in Wisconsin before being stationed in Germany while serving in the United States Air Force.

He was known as a top salesman and marketer who enjoyed sailing and flying his own airplanes.

Martin will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.

He is also survived by his son, Robert Cooley; daughter, Laura Jean Cooley; step-children, Jon (Jan) Cartmill, Debbie (Dave) Gerlette, Nanette (Pete) Nacy and Brenda (Rob) Culver; brothers, Thomas (Carol) Cooley and John “Jack” (Mary) Cooley; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul David Cooley and Harry William Cooley.
