Lacey Doyle Watson

Lacey Doyle Watson, age 86, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2012 .Mr. Watson was born on December 3, 1925 in Dublin, Georgia, and moved to the Redlands/Homestead area in 1944. He served in The United States Army from 1945-1946, earning The "Sharpshooter" classification. He also received the Good Conduct Medal and other merit ribbons for faithful and exemplary service to his country. Mr. Watson was an employee, and later company manager of Royal Palm City Ice located on US highway 1 north of Homestead. Under his leadership, Royal Palm City Ice, provided ice and other related products to hundreds of companies from Miami to Key West. He retired when the company was sold in 1995.Mr. Watson was pre-deceased by his wife Ouida Jones Watson. He is survived by his daughter Lacey Krebs, and his son Doyle Mack Watson, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Evelyn Underwood, Betty Watson and June Varnadoe. Private services for the family will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery.
