

Ann Cochran was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 18, 1936 and died peacefully on August 12, 2013. She was 76 years old. Ann was born to George Pugh Cochran and Margaret Lightfoot Cochran. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, George Lightfoot Cochran, Jean Cochran Williamson and James Terry Cochran. Ann graduated from Phillips High School, Birmingham Southern College and earned a Masters Degree in English from Samford University. She taught at Banks High School and Mountain Brook High School. Later she was employed by Social Security in the disability benefits department. Ann enjoyed travel, bridge, piano and her West Highland Terriers. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. The family is most appreciative of the lovingkindness provided by the caregivers at St. Martins in the Pines and St. Vincent's Hospital. Ann was a long time member of Canterbury Methodist Church. There will be a memorial service in Canterbury Methodist Chapel at 1:30 on Sunday, August18 with visitation immediately following.
