

She was married to James Hammett Green for thirty years until his death in 1980, and later to Richard Byrd Sherrill until his death in 2000. She is survived by her son James Hammett Green, Jr., his wife Heidi, and daughter Anna Logan Green. She was very proud of her twin grandchildren, George Logan Green and Mary Morgan Green. Also, survived by her sister, Rhoda Greene Watkins, husband Sheldon, and children Lucie Watkins Harding and husband Brandon, and George Watkins. Also, daughter of her second husband, Fran Sherrill Glendinning, and husband Rob, sons Richard Davis and the late Rob Davis.
She was a graduate of The Brook Hill School, Stephens College, Columbia Missouri; Newcomb College, Tulane University.
Anne Sherrill was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Birmingham, Daughters of the American Revolution, Old Elyton Chapter; Bookmarkers Literary Club, House and Garden Club, Ladies Golf Association of The Country Club of Birmingham, and Mint Makers Investment Club. For many hears, Mrs. Sherrill was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church, and recently, The Church of the Highlands.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. James B. Watley and The Camellia Medical Group, and Dr. Ira Gore for the great care given. Also, special thanks to Clay Wilder of Comfort Care Hospice and her loyal caregivers, Charity Banks, Katie Denton, Connie Farmer, Robyn Floyd, America Foster, Donna Sandlin, and Sonya Whitaker. Also, a special thank you to Bert Payne.
Out of an abundance of caution due to Covid 19, a private family service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.
