Brennan was born July 17, 1996, in Birmingham, AL. He was an active child who loved sports, of which, his favorite was the All-American pastime of baseball. One of his greatest desires was to play baseball again. He also had a passion for cars, especially red mustangs. His first car at age 15 was a classic 1966 Ford Mustang, which he was restoring. He also loved his 2005 Ford Mustang GT. He was a Ford man through and through; he got that from his grandfather, Johnnie, who left him his 1970’s Ford F-150 truck. Brennan would have spent all of his days working on his cars, if he could. Patriotism was first and foremost to him. With family members and close friends being in the military, Brennan highly respected servicemen and women along with their sacrifice.
Brennan never met a stranger and his heart for people was contagious. His friends and family meant the world to him and he would always “have their back”. He and his sister, Bellamy, had a special sibling relationship and he was to be her “Man of Honor” at her wedding next year.
Brennan was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D. and Kathryn Crump of Becker, MS; Johnnie Hawkins of Pell City, AL; and Jimmy Barker of Jasper, AL. He was survived by his parents, Brad and Betty Lyn Barker of Birmingham, AL and Andy Hawkins of Pell City, AL; his sister Bellamy Hawkins, of Birmingham, Al; brother Bradley Barker, currently serving in the U.S. Army; grandmothers Bonnie Hawkins of Pell City, AL; Judy Barker of Jasper, AL.
The family will receive friends at a celebration of life Friday, November 17th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel Homewood, AL.
