Carol Schiffelbein, age 83, passed away on Wednesday June 19, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Walter Schiffelbein; daughter, Jul McLeod (Vestavia Hills) and three sons, Paul (Chesapeake City MD), Mark (San Clemente, CA) and David (Los Angeles, CA).
She received a BA in Art from Chapman University, Orange, CA and taught art classes in public schools from K to 12 and adults in community college. She received numerous awards in juried shows for her prints and handmade art books. She was a docent a the Birmingham Museum of Art.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 3pm in Galleria Woods Retirement Center Chapel, 3850 Galleria Woods Dr, Hoover, Al 35244.
