Charles W. Paris

Charles William Paris, born on June 22, 1934, passed away on February 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Charles grew up in Alexander City and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Harvey and Grace Peppers. His memory will live on through his beloved wife, Evira Terriquez; his sister, Dianne Polito; his daughters, Carla Paris, Cynthia Ross, and Melody Paris; his sons-in-law Mike Ross and Rick Jones; and his grandchildren, Taylor and Rachel Ross.

A charismatic, strong, and caring man, Charles was known for his captivating stories and quick-witted jokes. His sense of humor and jovial nature brightened the lives of both his family and his friends at the Senior Center. He had a deep passion for history, antique cars, and Old Westerns, but he especially loved exploring other countries and dancing with his wife, Elvira. Together, they travelled all over the world - visiting Europe, Russia, and South America - and enjoyed 38 years of adventure and companionship.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, which he fondly remembered as “some of the best years of his life.” He also served in the US Army and National Guard, where he developed a life-long affection for black, instant coffee and an unswerving pride in his country. But beyond his academic and military accomplishments, he was a gifted businessman, energized by the challenge of making a good deal. His eyes lit up when he talked about his life - the milestones he reached, the friendships he made, and the opportunities he seized.

Charles William Paris was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Charles will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 beginning at 12:00 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM .

Charles creció en Alexander City y fue criado por su tía y su tío, Harvey y Grace Peppers. Charles, un hombre carismático, fuerte y afectuoso, era conocido por sus historias cautivadoras y sus chistes ingeniosos. Pero más allá de sus logros académicos y militares, era un hombre de negocios talentoso, motivado por el desafío de hacer un buen negocio. Sus ojos se iluminaron cuando habló de su vida: los hitos que alcanzó, las amistades que hizo y las oportunidades que aprovechó.

Charles William Paris fue un querido esposo, padre y abuelo, y todos los que lo conocieron lo extrañaremos profundamente.
