

Cynthia "Cindy" Barnett Nolan, age 60 passed away on October 10, 2021, was a loving and proud wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in New City, NY in 1961. As the daughter of an FBI Agent, she had the opportunity to live in several cities through her childhood, most notably Sarasota, FL where she developed her love of swimming and sunshine. Cindy spent the rest of her teenage and adult years in Vestavia Hills, AL.
Cindy graduated from Auburn University in 1983. Following graduation, she enjoyed a 38-year career in Human Resources in which she was passionate about touching the lives of the many people she worked with. One highlight of her career was her 11 years with Compass Bank where she was the Director of Employee Relations & Communications. Cindy cherished her time in this role and often spoke of fond memories and funny stories with some of her closest colleagues.
Cindy loved cheering on her Auburn Tigers and singing the Auburn Fight Song, win, or lose. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Cindy was full of laughter and always liked to find the humor in life.
Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Arvil Lewis ‘Lew’ Barnett, and Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Richardson Barnett, who she is now embracing. She is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Nolan; her two daughters, Chelsea Nolan and Courtney Nolan and her husband Michael Slother; grandson Charles Joseph ‘CJ’ Nolan Seifert; brother Scott Richardson Barnett and his wife Adria.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Cindy Nolan may be made to your favorite charity.
