David Robert Stephens, 54, passed away peacefully at his home in Sterrett, AL, on November 12, 2011. David was born in Louisiana and raised in Alabama where he graduated from Mountain Brook High School and attended Jacksonville State University,he was a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Earl Stephens. David will forever be remembered by his mother, Katherine Stephens; his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Will Young: his granddaughter, Ellen Gray Young; his sister, Nancy Morrison, and his niece and nephew, Paige and Jordan Morrison, along with many other friends and family who were blessed to know him. David loved being outdoors, fishing, and being with his family and friends. He dedicated his life to animals and the preservation of nature. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at 11:00A.M at The Gathering Place Church, 625 Park Ave.,Moody, AL, Visitation will precede the memorial at 10:00A.M. The family asks that any donations be made to the Alabama Wildlife Rescue Service or MOTE marine lab (www.mote.org).
