Eve Wilkinson Holloway

Eve Wilkinson Holloway of Birmingham, Alabama passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on November 25, 2023. Eve was born January 4, 1934, in Birmingham, Alabama to Edward and Mary Wilkinson. She is preceded in death by her parents and all four siblings (Mary, Ned, Bern, and Ann).

Eve graduated from Ramsay High School before attending the University of Alabama where she was a member of Tri Delta Sorority.

In 1957 Eve married the late Mayo Holloway, Jr. Together they raised two sons: Mayo Holloway III, Edward Holloway (Dawn) and two daughters: Mary Hyndman (Peter) and Eve Watson (Stuart). Their family grew with the addition of twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Eve was an active member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she could always be found on the third pew from the front. Her faith was always an important part of her life, and she instilled the same in her children.

Eve was a longstanding member of The Country Club of Birmingham, The Junior League of Birmingham, and Harlequins Dance Club.

Her favorite pastime included spending time with family and friends. She was actively involved in helping raise many of her grandchildren. Eve had a flair and passion for decorating her home, especially during the holidays. Christmas was always an epic experience in her household filled with loved ones and laughter.

The family wishes to thank the many care givers from ABC Healthcare and her hospice nurse, Brittini Little, who lovingly cared for Eve in the last days of her life. The family would also like to thank the residents and staff at Brookdale University Park for their friendship and support during the good times and her final days.

Visitation will be 10 am Friday December 1, 2023, at Saint Francis Xavier Church followed by an 11 am memorial mass in Eve’s honor. Lunch will be served at noon in the Parish Hall
