Evelyn Woods Walker, age 88 of Sumiton, Al went home to be with the Lord on June 15, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of Birmingham and was preceded in death by her nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Joyce Lane (Bill), grandchildren Miller Chesnut and Tres (Chris) Helton, 2 great grandchildren Bailey Chesnut and Lane Helton, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Walker will be Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Ridout’s Valley Chapel followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker’s family would like to thank Shadescrest Nursing Facility in Jasper Alabama for the loving kindness and care shown to her during her stay there.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that donations be made to Children’s Hospital of Alabama.
