March 3, 1950 - February 6, 2017 Gary was the proud co-owner of Bridal Bliss in Homewood, Alabama for 30 years. Gary was born in Wilmington, DE, the son of Benjamin John Walls and Nellie Downs Hartnett Walls. At the age of 14 he began apprenticing in bridal fashion in Wilmington and in Philadelphia, PA. He attended the Philadelphia Fashion Institute after which he worked for Fink Brothers Originals in New York City as a designer of bridal gowns and a sales consultant. In 1979 Bridal Bliss in Homewood opened under the ownership of Gary and his lifelong friend Clarence Lenker. Gary was a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Paul. Funeral Mass will be at the Cathedral of St. Paul on Thursday, February 9 at 10 am. Viewing will begin at 9 am. Burial will be in Wilmington, Delaware.
