Helen Steed Stimpson

March 12, 1925-February 10, 2013

Mrs. Helen Steed Stimpson, age 87 of Birmingham, AL died on 2/10/13. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Stimpson, parents Jessie Westbrook Steed and William Leroy Steed, and a sister Lucile Rhyne of Orlando, FL.

She is survived by her daughter Vickie L Harris (Skip) and four grand children, Justin, Kendall, Jacob and Andrew.

She graduated from Woodlawn High School and Howard College. She worked as a bookkeeper for Britling Cafeteria in the 1950's. She also was a typing teacher at Sand Rock High School. She then became what the she was called to do in life. She was a caretaker for various elderly aunts and uncles in her family. She enjoyed attending Sunday School and held an office at Roebuck Park Baptist Church in the 1970-1980's. She was always cooking for the elderly and any church function. She also enjoy being in a casasta card playing club and fishing with her husband Ralph on Weiss Lake.

The family will receive friends on February 12, 2013 beginning at 2:00 pm with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209.
