

Inez Wise Honeycutt, age 95, of Vestavia Hills passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by James H. Honeycutt, Jr., her husband of 62 years, her parents Charlie L. and Cora M. Wise, and brother Charlie L. Wise, Jr.
A life-long resident of the Birmingham area, Inez attended The University of Alabama and graduated from Birmingham Southern College. Following Jim’s retirement from the Marine Corps, the couple settled in Homewood. While raising a family, Inez had a career as a Medical Technologist for over thirty years. Upon retiring, she served as a volunteer at St. Vincent’s Hospital for over a decade.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Rick Honeycutt (Peggy), Becky Adler, Steve Honeycutt, and Susan Longley (Frank). In addition, Inez leaves seven grandchildren and their spouses: Heather Hurt (John), Drew Honeycutt (Kristen), Peter Honeycutt (fiancé Joy Mims), Catherine Elmore (Dean), Blake Longley, Mark Longley (Sara) and Sophie Adler. Inez is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: William and Evan Hurt, Lillian, Margot and Mims Honeycutt, and Cora and Selah Elmore, plus several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Vanessa Scott and LaWana Burts, and Comfort Care Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15th beginning at 9:00 am with the funeral service following at 10:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood where Inez was a faithful member since 1957. A private burial for the family will be held at Alabama National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
