Jack L. Mauldin, M.D.

Born on January 16, 1944 in Gainesville, Georgia, Dr. Mauldin was a Physician in Birmingham for more than 40 years, specializing in Gastroenterology, and was a published author of two children’s books. He was the husband of 53 years to Nancy Murphy Mauldin. The couple met while attending classes at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City and were married on July 20, 1968 in Panama City, Florida. A graduate of Bay High School in Panama City, Dr. Mauldin received his M.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, with Pre-med studies at Gulf Coast Community College and the University of Florida.

Dr. Mauldin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn Mauldin of Bay County, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two sons, Scott Mauldin and Steve Mauldin (Catherine); two grandchildren, Carly and Christopher, all of Mountain Brook, Alabama. He is also survived by his brother, Will Mauldin; nephew, Gregory and niece, Alicia, all of Georgia.

Dr. Mauldin’s remains will be buried at a future date and services will be held privately for the family.

The family requests, with gratitude, that memorial contributions in Dr. Mauldin’s name be directed to a charity of your choice. Services are under the direction of Ridout’s Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.
