

James Edward Bryant, Oct 24, 1927 - July 28, 2015 James Edward Bryant passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Born October 24, 1927 he was 88 years old. A native of Macon, Georgia, Ed lived his entire life in Georgia until moving to Birmingham in 2005. Ed served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII in occupied Japan. Ed's entrepreneurial spirit carried him from a journeyman mechanic to a successful 47 year land brokerage and entrepreneurial career in Atlanta. Ed's passion for the outdoors included quail hunting, golf, tennis, photography and the fall beauty of the Georgia Mountains. Ed was an accomplished dancer winning many ballroom dance competitions and awards. Ed was a member of the Country Club of the South and the Atlanta Black Tie Club. He will be remembered by family and friends for his simplicity of life and silent generosity that benefited so many. Ed is survived by his brother, Dennis Bryant of Macon, two sons, James Edward Jr. of Georgia and Scott Malcolm and his wife Julie of Homewood, Alabama, a daughter, Donna Jill Bryant of Georgia, and grandchildren James Edward III "Trey", Thomas "Tommy", Ruth, Daniel, Parker, and Nicholas. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 4th at 4pm at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, Dr. Gary Furr officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Alzheimer's of Central Alabama. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel.
