James "Jamie" R. Jones, III

It is with great sadness that the Jones family announces the death of James “Jamie” Rayford Jones III. Jamie, age 55 of Vestavia Hills passed away unexpectedly on December 13, 2023, in Northport, Alabama. He was born on October 30, 1968, in Fayette, Alabama, to the late James Rayford Jones Jr. and Martha Hindman Jones.

Jamie loved golfing, hunting, attending football games, traveling and spending time with his family. He loved his family and friends dearly. Jamie attended college and received a BS in Business Administration. The majority of his career he worked in commercial sales and he loved his current position at Southern Lighting and Traffic Systems. He felt like he never worked a day in his life due to loving what he did.

His wonderful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his wife of 31 years, Jill Brophy Jones, sons James Cooper Jones and Crett McKinley Jones, his mother Martha Hindman Jones, brother Jason McKinley Jones sister-in-law Jennifer Byer Jones, sister-in-law Julie Lyle and his nieces Kayla Lyle, Samantha Lyle, Chloe Jones, and Emma Grace Jones. He was proceeded in death by his father James Rayford Jones Jr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 1:00pm. The memorial service will be held immediately after at 2:00pm. Both the visitation and memorial will be held at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, in Homewood, Al.

After the service, the family invites friends and family to gather at their home. Light refreshments will be served.

Jamie made an impact on many lives and will be forever missed. Until we meet again Jamie.
