Jane was born in Montgomery and reared there. She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and Judson College with a BA in French and Mathematics. Jane met Robert Felton Mann in Birmingham while she was teaching. They married in July of 1958 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery. They were married for 59 years until his death. They have 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.
She was a math teacher at Mountain Brook Middle School, and Briarwood Christian Middle School. She also worked as a realtor at RealtySouth and worked as a stylist with Doncaster clothing (her favorite color was red).
Jane came to faith in Christ at the age of 36. She was a member of many Christian groups including: Community Bible Study, Donna Green Ministries board, Young Life Committee, and the Homestead Sunday School class at Briarwood Church. Her gift, among many, was shepherding young couples. Her home was always open to someone needing a meal, place to stay or just a cup of coffee. She felt so blessed by the Lord's hand in her life - she wanted to help others.
After moving to Decatur, she was involved at Decatur Presbyterian Church. She was the unofficial 'mayor' of Morningside - her assisted living facility. She helped with devotionals, daily exercise, and encouraged residents and staff alike. With grace, strength, wisdom and humor she navigated life - wherever God placed her. We are so grateful for her and are the beneficiaries of her rich life of faith and love.
