Jean Lucille Cox, age 79, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2023. She was born on February 18, 1944. As a teenager, she moved to Birmingham from Florida with her parents Charles and Lucille Cox. Jean graduated from Shades Valley High School and the University of Alabama.
Jean had a wonderful and exciting career in various banks and credit unions in the Birmingham area. After her retirement, she enjoyed her many friends at Foxcroft, her long walks, her pet cat and the vibrant community of Vestavia Hills Methodist Church.
Jean is survived by her cousin, Mary Elizabeth Cox Waitzman and many other close family members.
A visitation will be at Ridout’s Valley chapel in Homewood on Friday, November 3, 2023 beginning at 11:00 am with a small service following at 11:45 am. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
