Joe Wayne Dabbs, 69, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Dabbs is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Debbie Sablich Dabbs and his children Kristie Dabbs Stewart (David), Joseph Vann Dabbs (Amanda), and grandchildren Carter Dabbs, Clark Stewart, Caroline Dabbs, Grace Stewart, and Charlie Dabbs, sister Kathy Dabbs Curry (JR), and brothers John Dabbs (Linda) and Tom Dabbs (Helen), and mother-in-law Lillian Sablich Jenkins.
Mr. Dabbs grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, attended and graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi, and spent his entire banking career in several financial institutions in Hattiesburg and Laurel, Mississippi.
Joe was preceded in death by his father JT Dabbs, his mother Norma Ellen Dabbs, and his sister Jane Ellen Dabbs.
A memorial service will be held at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama, 35209, on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. a time of visitation will be from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Valley Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family of Mr. Dabbs suggest that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
