Jon M. Turner Jr.

TURNER, JON M. JR. Jon M. Turner, Jr., age 50, of Mountain Brook left this life on July 18, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Smith Turner, children Ann Ellard Turner, Catherine Claire Turner, Madeline Dalel Turner, Mary Alison Turner and Melanie Grace Turner, his sister, Mary Turner Roberts (Jim), his brother Thomas Michael Turner (Beth) and a host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Jon M. Turner, Sr. and Doris Thrower Turner. Jon was born in Tuscaloosa, Al. He was a 1979 graduate of Tuscaloosa High School, a 1983 graduate of the University of Alabama and a 1986 graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Jon was a loving husband, father and friend. The light of Jon's life were his wife, Cathy, and his five daughters. Jon was perfectly suited to be the lone man in a house of women. He often joked that he was made to be a girl's father. And he was a great father to his daughters. Through life's journey, we touch many lives. Those most special leave their imprint and never fade away. Jon was a special, gentle and kind man who touched many lives as demonstrated by the tremendous love his family and friends have for him. He will forever live in our hearts. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 with services following at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood, Al. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 1720 Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, AL 35209; or the charity of your choice.
