Josephine McNally “Josie” Mahon, 36, of Seaview Drive, Edenton, North Carolina, and formerly of the Tidewater area of Virginia, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at home where she was surrounded by her family.
Josie was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 7, 1980, had majored in Hospitality and Tourism Management in college, and had worked in that field for several years.
Surviving are her mother, Sandy Kattus Mahon of Birmingham, AL; her father, Richard C. Mahon and his wife Alexis of Edenton; her grandmother, Elizabeth B. Mahon of Arlington, VA; two brothers, Christopher Brian Mahon, wife Mollie, and their son, James of Alexandria, VA, and Brendan Patrick Mahon of Washington, DC; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Josie was a kind and honest soul who endeared people with her selfless generosity. A warm listener, she remembered everything about the people she encountered as she effortlessly captured the hearts of her friends and family through storytelling and her uproarious sense of humor. Those closest to Josie have said they feel lucky to have known her; that she had a uniquely charming and charismatic personality; that they still laugh when they think about her even years later; that she was an essential part of some of the greatest times of their lives; and that they will never forget her. We all love and miss her dearly.
