Judy Lee Taylor went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on December 29, 2020 at the age of 76. Judy was born in Homewood, AL on June 7th 1944. Judy grew up attending Homewood Cumberland Presbyterian church where she remained a member until the time of her death. Judy was raised in Homewood and attended Hall-Kent Elementary school (where she met her husband in the 4th grade), Homewood Middle School, Shades Valley High School and Misses Howard School for Girls. She worked in the home for many years after her marriage to Tim Taylor in 1962 and returned to college in her 40’s where she obtained her masters degree in social work. Judy was co-facilitator of Compassionate Friends with her husband Tim, a support group for bereaved parents, from 1984-1989 following the death of their son Frank. Judy was an outstanding marriage, family and grief therapist and worked for Catholic Family Services for many years until she retired. Judy is predeceased by her son Francis Eugene Taylor, her husband Timothy Bonner Taylor, her mother Janie Bell Mote, her father Francis Emory Perry, her brother-in-law Elden Taylor and a beloved nephew Henry Arnold III (Trey). Left to celebrate Judy’s memory are her daughters Melanie Taylor Sokol of Homewood, AL, Shannon Taylor Fitzwater (Shawn) also of Homewood, AL and five wonderful grandsons: Nevin and Caleb Sokol and Gabriel, Noah and Finley Fitzwater. She is also survived by her second father William E. Mote, sister Jill Arnold (Hank), niece Stacy Young (David) and their children Leland, David, Sims and James, brother-in-law Tommy Taylor (Brenda) and their daughters Michelle and Terry Taylor. We will miss her dearly but we are so happy to know that she is not only reunited with her son and husband whom she missed so much but also worshipping with her savior.
