Julia E. Barton

Julia Ellen Barton, age 85, passed away on November 19, 2016. She was born on August 18, 1931 in Markville, Indiana and lived in Pendleton, Indiana until 1949. She was a graduate of Wilkinson High School and of Elkhart Business University where she received a degree in Dental Hygiene. She married the late Jim Barton from Wilkinson, Indiana and they were married 63 years. They both attended Minnesota Bible College and traveled across the United States singing and preaching at Revival Meetings for 5 years with the Gospel Four Quartet. In 1957 they moved to Nashville, TN where they ministered at First Christian Church. She held many jobs from operating a pre-school program, teaching Sunday school, working as a school nurse and school patrol for over 30 years and was the backbone of her husband’s ministry. Julia and Jim fostered over 20 children in their home.

Mrs. Barton will be greatly missed by her 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. We rejoice that she is now reunited with Jim and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a memorial service and pot-luck dinner following at Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
