Lois Evelyn Hitchcock Ward born Feb. 9th, 1924 in Albemarle, NC- Died Aug. 23, 2019 in Lawrenceville, GA at the age of 95. Lois lived over 60 years in Homewood, AL and was known by several neighbors to not only mow her yard and clean her gutters in her 90's until finally letting them help her. She was an award winning Avon sales rep for 50 plus years and loved her customers as friends. She was a long-time member of Dawson Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Mrs. Ward is preceded in death, son David Wayne Ward, 35 yrs. from a car crash Oct. 29, 1988, husband David Ray Ward, 81 yrs. Feb. 16, 1996 Survived by daughter Robin Ward Holcomb, son-in-law M. Cliff Holcomb, grandsons Christopher Ward Holcomb and Derek Coleman Holcomb of Lawrenceville, GA. Friends and family are cordially invited to a time of visitation with refreshments Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 1 o'clock in the afternoon until 2 o'clock followed by a service honoring Mrs. Wards life at 2 o'clock at Ridout's Valley Chapel 1800 Oxmoor Rd. Homewood, AL 35209. The rite of burial will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery.
