Mrs. Mamie Jo Powell age 92 of Birmingham, AL passed away January 11, 2018. She was born to Mamie L. and Joseph Hendricks on July 26, 1926. Mrs. Powell is preceded in death by her husband William Curtis Powell and sister Arline Vinyard. She is survived by her son Dudley Powell and his wife Jan, grandchildren Scott Teel (wife Melody), Suzanne Powell Mills (husband Kirk), and great grandchildren: Ben Teel, Charlie Teel, Luke Mills, Paul Mills, and Sam Mills. A graveside service will be Monday at 2:00 PM January 14, 2019 at Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Gary Furr officiating. A visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Vestavia Hills Baptist Church
