

Martha Frances (“Bitty”) Albright Fredette, age 74 of Hoover, AL passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was born July 24, 1940 in Clarksville, TN to Howell (“Whitey”) Albright and Madelyn Redmond Albright. Martha was predeceased by her parents and youngest brother James Timothy Albright, and grandparents, Oscar and Mattie Albright and James and Gertrude Redmond.
A 1958 graduate of Clarksville High School and 1963 graduate of Austin Peay State University with a B.S. in Secondary Education, she taught English at Thornton Township High School in south suburban Chicago for 20 years.
Martha is survived by her husband of 50 years, Edward Ray; son, Brock (Kelly) and grandchildren, Sophie and Michael Fredette. Also surviving are her sisters Sara Ann Pride (Murray); Mary Evelyn Locklear (John); Susan Adelle Brennan (Steve); brothers Philip Randall (Teresa) and Howell B. (“Buff”) (Jenny) and a number of much loved nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 709 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery immediately following mass.
Flowers are generously accepted, or memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, or your favorite charity.
The family wishes to thanks Dr. Ruth Atkinson and her entire staff at Alabama Oncology in Birmingham, AL, as well as the staff at Optum Hospice for their compassionate care and concern.
