Martha lived in the Birmingham area her whole life. She was a caregiver for many individuals over the years. Martha was a longtimemember of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and loved her church with all her heart. Up until the end, she attended her weekly Sunday School class by calling in on the phone each Sunday morning. For many years, Martha loved living at Episcopal Place. She attended all the activities they had, and her favorite whether there or at South Haven Health & Rehabilitation was always bingo! She watched Jeopardy! and other game shows daily. Even as she grew older she could recall important facts and dates from times long gone by in the family and community around her. Martha loved gospel music and went to concerts whenever she could. She always loved animals but her favorite animals were cats. She had a cat named Momma and they loved each other very much. Martha believed in staying active and made sure to walk daily. She inspired us all to do the same! Her favorite color was purple. She loved Pepsis and made sure she never ran out. No matter what, Martha believed in God. Even after her stroke, she reminded us all, "God knows...." After the stroke, we found out many individuals called Martha friend and wanted to know how she was. We do not know who all Martha called daily, but one thing we do know, her calls saying "I'm ok" will be missed. In all the world, there's only one Martha! Rest in peace.
