Mary also headed up the library at Southern Research Institute for much of the 20? years she was there. We came to SRI the same day. She was always fun and interesting.  I loved that girl and hate to hear of her passing. She was a delight.

Your presence will be missed my dear friend. I will always remember our conversations.  God bless you and your family.  Mary, you fought the good fight!

I worked with Mary several years ago at the library.  She was such a positive person, even after some adversity that she had gone through in life.  She was a pleasure to work with and her family seemed to bring her much happiness.  She in turn brought that happiness to others.  I appreciated how she was always so helpful and kind and seemed to enjoy life.  Mary, I will miss you and thank you for the happiness that you brought others.  My sympathy to your family.

I worked with Mary @ North Birmingham Branch and would see her often when I visited the Central Library. She always had a gigantic smile to brighten my day. I will miss her unique jewelry that she would wear and sometimes would share where she bought them. Rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

What can I say, she was one of my best friends...

I worked with Mary when she was at SRI and when she came to BPL.  The picture you have is what most will remember...her smile and her laughter, regardless....She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

I had the honor of knowing Mary as a friend and a neighbor.  She was one of the first people I met when I  moved to Birmingham in 1986 and began working at Southern Research Institute.  So sweet and kind - she was a kind soul and a good friend.  Rest in peace, Mary.

Mary worked by my side in the Arts/Lit/Sports Department and was always such a sweet person. We shared laughter, food, coffee, jokes, stories, music and tears. I will miss her smile and hearty laugh. Rest in peace Mary.
