She left this earth on January 24th, while holding hands with the loving family she leaves behind; her caring husband Greg, daughters Shilo and Lael, son Lennon, and grand-baby Katherine Anne, who brought her so much joy as she faced cancer with courage and grace.
Her parents Ruth and Melvin Kenerley and her older brother David welcomed her into this world at UAB hospital on December 16th, 1956. They were all waiting to welcome her into heaven too.
Melinda lead a life marked most by her devotion and love for her family. That caring compassion spread wide to countless friends, many from childhood. She lived in the moment, loved deeply and genuinely and filled relationships with her wit and artistic take on life.
A talented photographer, and an excellent seamstress, she spent many nights making smocked dresses and mornings taking photos of her children. Her sense of adventure was unparalleled, and even included a spontaneous skydive with her daughter Lael.
Her memories leave sweet reminders to all of us to be good to our neighbors, to have hope, and to find humor in even the hardest of times.
Visitation will be Thursday January 28th from 4 to 6 pm at John's-Ridout's Homewood. Service and burial Saturday January 30th 1 pm at Old Shady Grove Baptist Church Dutton Alabama
