Nancy U. Kimbrough

Nancy Underwood Kimbrough, age 89, of Homewood, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 26. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30th at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood with burial following at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, James Elton Kimbrough. She is survived by: sons, Allan Kimbrough and wife, Alicia (King) Kimbrough of Birmingham; Randall Kimbrough and wife, Monica (Fetner) Kimbrough of Lanett; special daughter, Mary Elizabeth Spencer and husband, William Spencer, of Alabaster; special granddaughter Caitlin Spencer; granddaughter Madison Grace Kimbrough; and numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nancy was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and worked there for more than 20 years. She was a loving mother and wonderful cook and hostess. The family would like to thank First Light Home Care for all of their services. Special thanks to caregivers Sam, Tommie, and Brianna. Also, thanks to St. Vincent’s Home Health and Hospice for everything they did. A very special expression of thankfulness and gratitude needs to be made for the care given by Alicia Kimbrough, Mary Elizabeth Spencer, niece, Lucy Underwood Newell, and friend Linda Hillyer.
