Ruth Todd

Ruth Todd, Homewood, AL, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 5, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents E. Hofford and Ruth M. Todd, and brothers Hofford (Toddy) Todd and Harry Todd. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Barbara B. Todd and Judith P. Todd; nieces Linda Walters, Tracey Freemen and Wendy Rose; and nephews Alan Todd, Mark Todd and Matthew Todd. Ruth went to Edgewood Elem., Phillips High School, and Auburn University. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and a huge Auburn fan. After graduating from Auburn she began a life-long career with the Social Security Administration.

Ruth lived in Homewood her entire life. She was an active member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully. She had such a kind and giving heart and was always helping others in need. She loved her church, community, neighbors, and friends, and they all loved her.

A service will be held at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Friday, October 8th, at 2 pm with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts be made in Ruth’s memory to the Women’s Missionary Union Foundation, P O Box 830010, B’ham, AL 35283 or Pathways (Bed and Roses), 409 21st St. N., B’ham, AL 35203.
