Spencer was born in Carbon Hill, AL. He was a US Navy Seal, served in Vietnam and retired from BellSouth with 30 years service. He is predeceased by his parents, Elsie and Bill Collins and son Shane Collins. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Carlene Collins, sister Suzanne Atkins (Larry), brother Billy Collins (Valinda), grandchildren Natalie and Bentley Collins and host of family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, February 7 from 10:30-12:00 pm at Ridout's Valley Chapel Homewood followed by funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.
