Thomas "Ronnie" Cross, Sept. 10, 1942 - June 5 ,2015 Thomas "Ronnie" Cross, 72, passed peacefully Friday, June 5, 2015 at his home in Birmingham, Al. He is survived by Kathryn Cross; his daughter Anita Marshall and her husband George; daughter Margot Cross and her fianc Brandon Dison; and his brother Herbert Dell Cross. He is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Jamie Cross and his brother John David Cross. The youngest of three sons, he was born and raised in Ethridge, TN making Birmingham his home in the 1960's where he became a successful and beloved hairdresser in the Vestavia Hills area. With a comb in one hand and a cigarette and scissors in the other, he was well known as the owner/operator of "Hair By Ronnie" for over 50 years. Known for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to help others, he lived a colorful and full life taking pride in his work ethic, providing for his family and creating a fun, welcoming environment both in his work and home life where he was much loved and will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10, from 5-8pm at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood for family and friends to celebrate his life. Per his request, Mr. Cross will be cremated and interred in a family plot in Tennessee at a later date.
