Many knew him as Brother Bill - but his family knew him as Grandpaw. He worked for Alabama Power for 39 years and was an active member of the "Energizers". Rev. Thomason was a Southern Baptist Minister who loved the Lord and lived his life serving others with all his heart. He loved traveling and visited all 50 states, but his heart was devoted to Gatlinburg and Dollywood. He loved the Auburn Tigers and President Trump. Brother Bill loved laughter and always had a joke to tell and he was the first Santa at Brookwood Village. He was dearly loved by all that knew him.
He is proceeded In death by his loving wife Carolyn and is survived by his three children Maria McClung, Judy Sanders (Jeff), and Gary Thomason; his six grandchildren Joshua (Meg), Grant (Jami), Jana (Grant), Matthew, Brenna (John) and Annaliese. Also left to treasure his memory are his seven great-grandchildren Liam, Oliver, Addie, Tahlia, Lev, Rymer, and Willow.
A memorial service to honor the wonderful life and treasured memories of Brother Bill will be held at a future date.
