Charles A. Singley Jr., 77, of Homosassa, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at his home. A native of Philadelphia, Pa., he was born Jan. 6, 1935, and moved to Homosassa from Kemblesville, Pa., 15 years ago. Mr. Singley was a retired salesman for Coca-Cola with 30 years of service, overseeing the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware areas. Charles was a member of the 1954 LaSalle NCAA National Champion basketball team, playing as a forward.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joy M. Singley of Homosassa; daughter-in-law, Karen Singley of New Castle, Del.; sister, Veronica Pacewic and husband Andrew of Greenville, S.C.; and granddaughter, Jennifer Singley of New Castle, Del. Mr. Singley was preceded in death by a son, the late Robert Singley on April 27, 2009.
A memorial service of remembrance will be at Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa on Friday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Larry Strickland officiating. Interment will be private. www.wilderfuneral.com.
