Dallas E. Mighell, 80, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his home. A native of Buncombe, IL, he was born Aug. 3, 1940 to Willard and Irene (Yawney) Mighell, he was one of three children. Dallas proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for two years as a young man and became a long distance truck driver. In 1980, he moved to Citrus County from Indianapolis, IN and in 1986 founded Dallas Land Clearing & Demolition. Dallas had since retired some years ago, but was still active in his family business. Mr. Mighell had a passion for hot peppers and liked to grow and eat the hottest he could! When he wasn’t working he enjoyed making home made salsa with tomatoes from the Jeff’s produce, drinking Coca-Cola and watching NASCAR, going to estate auctions and flea markets, and classic car shows where he would show his prized red 1967 Shelby Cobra, he was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Dallas was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Allen Mighell, and a sister Millie Kaufman. He is survived by children Ron “Ronnie” Mighell (wife Leslee), of Hernando, FL and Melissa Lea, of Lecanto, FL; his former wife and mother of his children, Wanda Shell, Hernando, FL; loving companion, Sandra Johnson, Homosassa, FL; sister Carolyn Wolf(Brad), Greentown, IN; granddaughter Heather Tarsia (husband Steven), great grandchildren Tyler, Breanna and Dayna Fergerson of Citrus Springs, FL and grandson Lawson Lea, Lecanto, FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins in Indiana and Illinois. Also, his beloved chihuahuas Joe, Cobra and Nonnie. Friends will be received on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, where a Celebration Of Life will begin at 1:30 P.M. starting with military honors being rendered by the American Legion Post #155 Honor Guard, Crystal River. www.wilderfuneral.com
